Like most old churches in the country, Saint Joseph the Worker Parish was also utterly destroyed in multiple occasions. The building greatly suffered from various wars including the Spanish Regime in 1896, the Japanese-Filipino war in 1940s, and the Hukbalahap rebellion in 1960s. After a short trip to Adventure Resort, we headed to San Jose Del Monte. As the name suggests, the town got its name from Saint Joseph.
The town reportedly got its name from Saint Joseph whose statue was found was a veritable forest; the hunters called it San Jose Del Monte. In all probability, the hunters reported their find to the parish priest of Meycauayan. It was said that the priest built a stone church at the site where the town proper is now located.

Over the years, it is obvious that the church have gone rehabilitation and enhancement, which can be seen mostly in its interior. However, the exterior fabric of the building remains as it seem it was before. Its proximity to Manila and Quezon City had made San Jose del Monte an ideal place for a quiet and peaceful living.
According to history, the hunters found a statue of Saint Joseph in a mountain forest, hence the name “San Jose Del Monte “. The Saint Joseph the Worker Parish in San Jose Del Monte is considered to be one of the oldest churches in the province of Bulacan. The first church was established in 1751 and was only made of light materials. The construction of the stone church started in 1842 and was completed in 1854.

Adelantado established Calumpit and Malolos as an Encomienda entrusted to Sargento Juan Moron and Don Marcos de Herrera. These two conquistadores was one of the first group of conquerors accompanied by Legaspi who have arrived in the Islands in 1565. In the 2020 census, Bulacan had a population of 3,708,890 people, the most populous in Central Luzon and the third most populous in the Philippines, after Cebu and Cavite.
Bulacan is served by all major banks with more than 200 banks doing business in the province. The entrepreneurial culture is supported by the strong cooperative movement with total assets of over PhP 2 Billion. Roman Catholic (89.44%) is the predominant religion in the province. Malolos City is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Malolos, with its mother church, the Minor Basilica and Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

The ruins of the station in Guiguinto town, Bulacan province, will be among the structures that will be preserved. The fisheries of Bulacan, aside from fishponds and rivers, include Bustos Dam and waterlogged areas. Major species cultured include bangus, tilapia, prawn, and catfish. This made Bulacan a leading province in Bangus production based on reports of the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics .

While the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto seems like another great pilgrim site in San Jose Del Monte, we have a very limited time to explore and we had to visit our next destination. Originally, the next stop is the Saint Andrew shrine in Bocaue but we came across another church in San Jose Del Monte ~ the San Isidro Labrador Parish. This is just among the old churches of Bulacan and there's a lot more to visit most likely if you are doing aVisita Iglesia -- then the province of Bulacan is also a placed to be. In early 1898, the provinces of Zambales, Ilocos, Pampanga, Bulacan, Laguna, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and Camarines rose again. In Central Luzon, a revolutionary government was organized under General Francisco Macabulos, a Kapampangan revolutionary leader of La Paz, Tarlac.
On June 21, 1982, a group of young activists opposing the Marcos dictatorship tried to help farmers form a local chapter of Alyansa ng Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon . They were arrested by armed soldiers from the 175th Philippine Constabulary Company and were found dead the following day in San Rafael, Bulacan. The name of the so-called Bulacan Martyrs was added to the Bantayog ng mga Bayani's ‘Wall of Remembrance’ in 2012. During the General Visitation of October 5, 1762, by Don Simón de Anda y Salazar, the province was headed by Capitan Don Jose Pasarin, alcalde mayor of the province. Two months later, on November 14, 1571, Goiti reached Malolos and Calumpit respectively and it was reported to Adelantado Miguel Lopez de Legaspi, the first Governor-General of the Philippines.
